Friends of Brighton woman say web bullies drove her to kill herself

A woman has been found dead after what her friends described as abuse at the hands of online bullies.

Friends believe Simone Back took an overdose of pills following taunts on the social networking site Facebook.

Last night they paid tribute to Ms Back and condemned the bullies they claim drove her to suicide.

Police and paramedics were called to Ms Back's home in Warwick Mount, Montague Street, Brighton, shortly before 4pm on Boxing Day.

She was declared dead an hour later.

Police are not treating her death as suspicious and an inquest has been opened and adjourned while officers wait for the results of a post mortem.

Leave your tributes to Ms Back below or email naomi. loomes@theargus.co.uk.

A very sad story.
Sounds like some of the people that pass judgement and comment on here!
Maybe people should concider the ramifications of what they sat to people on the net!

A very sad case.

And should make anybody realise that he or she need not feel under the obligation of "social networking" to make their presence felt.

Facebook could go the way of MySpace...

From conversations I remember there was mental bullying as well from fb. Not loads of people but at least one person was playing with her head with accusations etc. She definately is missed by many friends.

I often spoke to this young lady in St James's Street, and knew her from her volunteering in the Beacon shop.
I'ts so sad that she felt there was no one to turn to.
Rest in peace love. Kindest thoughts to her mum.

Dear Sim

Life threw more pain at you nearly each year than most of us get in a lifetime. I pray you have now found peace. Will miss you so so much.
