Man killed in M23 crash named
3:41pm Wednesday 12th January 2011 in News By Anna Roberts, Crime reporter
A man who died following a motorway crash has been named as Kenneth Boxell.
Mr Boxell, 52, of South Coast Road, Telscombe Cliffs, Peacehaven, died following a collision between the motorcycle he was riding and five other vehicles on the M23 at about 6.10am on Saturday.
The collision took place on the northbound M23 just past junction 10a, the Maidenbower interchange. Mr Boxell died at the scene.
The motorway had to be closed both north and southbound for several hours whilst the collision was attended by emergency services and the Highways Agency.
The drivers of the other vehicles, three cars and two vans, were unhurt, and their vehicles did not sustain serious damage.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We are asking anyone who saw this tragic collision or what led up to it to contact us via 0845 60 70 999, quoting Operation Beckside.”

This day was so very, very sad but how wonderful to see the hundreds of friends who were there to say goodbye, support Ken's family - especially Teresa - and show how much this lovely, wonderful, 'larger-than-life', special, special Man; meant to us all.
We were all so touched by Teresa's words and her bravery, when she stood up and spoke during the funeral service.
I cannot, adequately, express my sorrow for the loss that Teresa bears, now dear Ken is gone from us.
When you spoke with Ken he made you feel special - but no-one was more special to him than Teresa - they were made for each other. Such a tragedy that their life together was, so cruelly, cut short.
With love - always
Helen and John
