A mother who was given just two months to live after being struck down by cancer is continuing to enjoy life to the full an amazing 13 years later.

Sue Wigg, 56, was told she was terminally ill and faced the grim reality of not being around to see her two sons grow up.

But she has defied medical experts by successfully battling the disease.

She says she now lives a rich and fulfilled life and never takes any day for granted.

Mrs Wigg, a special needs teacher of London Road, Burgess Hill, was referred to a dermatologist in 1998 after an irritating skin condition refused to go away.

She was referred to the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey and told she had an extremely rare and lethal form of internal skin cancer called malignant myeloma.

Tumours were found in her brain and liver and she needed an urgent operation before undergoing chemotherapy.

She and her husband Michael, 59, and their two sons, now aged 29 and 31, were left astonished as her health gradually improved.
