Buyers will be hoping their prayers are answered when a former church goes to auction later this month.
The former North Rigton Methodist Church on Church Hill, north of Pool-in-Wharfedale, has a guide price of £50,000 when it goes under the hammer at the Eddisons property auction.
The unusual lot is currently a vacant, single-storey detached building covering about 1,600 sq ft and includes mainly open-plan accommodation with a feature timber-clad ceiling.
Tony Webber, from Eddisons, said: “This type of lot rarely comes up and given the popularity of the location, in the centre of an attractive village near Harrogate, I expect there to be plenty of interest.
“Vendors have responded to market conditions by setting realistic guide prices, which means plenty of bargains for buyers.
“It feels like the January sales have been extended.”
The auction takes place at Leeds United Football Club, Elland Road, Leeds, at 12.30pm on Thursday, February 24.
