THE University of Bolton’s groundbreaking Writers’ Lab project has been shortlisted for a prestigious BBC Achievement Award.
It was introduced early last year to help students progress into a career in screenwriting.
The award is for an outstanding contribution to boosting employment prospects for the region’s budding creative talent, and the winner will be announced at the BBC North Development of Talent Conference at the University of Central Lancashire on March 2.
Jane Stuart, the University’s creative industry liaison and the project’s manager, said: “To be shortlisted for the prize is an achievement on its own. It would be great to win, but this shows that Writers’ Lab is among an elite group in the region that is inspiring the next generation of writers.”
