NOW the weather has turned slightly warmer and wetter, could anyone please explain why a gritting lorry was gritting in Bournemouth on Tuesday February 1? I passed it at about 7.15pm going along Surrey Road towards the centre of town.
Surely, given the above-zero temperature, this is completely unnecessary and furthermore, extremely costly and wasteful of public resources. We could have done with a bit more gritting when it really was cold in December, but I don't want to rub salt in to anyone's wounds.
