Sail Training International is a registered charity and is the world’s only organiser of international races for Tall Ships as well as a range of other activities to promote and develop sail training. We work closely with our international member organisations, tall ship operators and host-ports to help young people benefit from the sail training experience.
Due to the success of our activities and events, we now plan to appoint a full-time PR/Media specialist to manage all aspects of our activities in these areas.
The PR/Media Manager reports to the Commercial Director and maintains a working relationship with the boards of directors of the organisation’s subsidiary companies to ensure effective day-to-day management of all media activities.
The successful candidate will have prior experience of dealing with local, national and international media, excellent inter-personal, writing and presentation skills, and an empathy with our organisational purpose. They will be required to work within a small staff team.
International travel is a regular requirement of the role, most notably during the planning phase and for the duration of the race season each year The job is based at Sail Training International’s offices in Gosport,Hampshire.
