Proof once again (if more were needed) of the place the Albion have in the hearts of the community. Shame on all those who opposed the stadium.
Define the word community. I distinctly remember that whenever the stadium was mooted for a different site other than Falmer, the communities there were very quick to state why it wouldn't work in that location. The pro-stadium supporters were as much NIMBY's as those at the Falmer site.
More nonsense from a stadium NIMBY. The reason other sites were rejected is not difficult to understand-they were all unsuitable. Communities didn't reject the idea of The Albion building at alternative sites-but you already know that. All alternative sites were totally unworkable. Understand that? Unworkable! Simple really. Those sites still are, and always will be unworkable. As usual, a NIMBY distorts what actually happened.
Time for you people to move on-the stadium is opening in 6 months and your constant bleating is not going to change that.
Is Septictank still on here? Remember him? "The Stadium Will Never Be Built". I think Plantpot might be Septic's new identity. Spouts the same drivel anyway."

Albion to showcase Falmer wedding plans

Albion may have been responsible for many football widows down the years but the club is now set to create its first football bride.

More than a dozen couples have already enquired about the possibility of holding their special day at the American Express Community Stadium.

Kev Attwood, 49, and Sue King, 46, are set to be the first couple to wed at the Amex Community Stadium when they marry on July 9 at 3pm.

The Shoreham couple are planning a day to remember decorated in Albion colours.

The loved-up pair even put their nuptials on hold to wait for the Amex after plans for a Withdean marriage were dashed because the stadium didn’t have a licence.

Organisers, who have applied for a wedding licence, claim the multi-million ground can cater for all kinds of celebration.

Polly Harrison, head of hospitality and events at the Amex, said: “We are open to all ideas and want to offer couples a completely bespoke service and, if possible, we want to say yes to any request, no matter how unusual.”

Interested couples will be able to see the facilities at the stadium’s first ever Wedding Fayre on September 4 hosted by Stylish Events while a virtual tour and sample of set menus are also available on request.
