A woman has been found guilty of causing the death of a 90-year-old pedestrian.
Joanna Hand, 38, has been banned from driving for two years after she was found guilty by a jury of causing Robert Cade’s death through careless driving.
Mr Cade was stood outside West Worthing railway station in Tarring Road on September 18, 2009, when he was hit by a Ford Fiesta which was being driven by Hand.
Mr Cade, of Canterbury Road, Worthing, was taken by ambulance to Worthing Hospital but died as a result of his injuries.
Hand, of Ardingly Drive, Goring, appeared at Chichester Crown Court yesterday where she was also given a curfew from 9pm to 5am for the next five months.
She has been ordered to pay costs of £230.
Inspector Neil Walker said: "Although 90 years of age, Robert was a very active man and his death has been very traumatic for his immediate family.
“They are pleased with the findings of the jury and I hope they can now try to move on with their lives."
