For nurses, police officers and firefighters, working on Christmas Day comes with the territory of working for the emergency services.
But you could not say the same for nursery workers.
A new childcare service will open on weekends, bank holidays and even December 25 in order to fit in with parents’ busy working lives.
Tiny Troopers childcare, based in Brangwyn Drive, Brighton, will be open from 7am to 6pm every day of the week.
Its owners Sarah and Philip Bentley say the move will mean that busy parents will be able to leave their children in a safe environment while they work.
For more information email tinytroopers@cheerful.com.

I know work commitments are important, but more than your child, really? Just one day a year Christmas comes around, surely relatives/partner/cl ose friends can help out. Some parents might as well just give their child away, what with the lack of time they spend with them, but then they wouldn't get the child related benefits and a sense of smug satisfaction. Christmas is a time for giving (not your children to the nursery though).

This coment is for Frank-in-sense. Burgess hill 901 & tpe bo Belarus who all sound the same. To some christmas day is just another day and in religions to, they do not celebrate it. Many people in so many diferent positions have to work. Many business are open PUBLIC HOUSES; RESTAURANTE; HOTELS & many more. It is very good that some people has the insight to extend professional child care. The public I am sure will welcome this news so why make something good look bad. If people need extra care for the children they should not be judged in a negative way. These nursery workers should be comended for the hard work they will have to do.

Their opening hours of 7am - 6pm implies a 7:30am-5:30pm working day, not much good when working 7:45am until 8:00pm as a Nurse, or 7am until 4/5pm as Police.
Of course, if you've got someone working a 9-5 then it's fine, but there's not many of those on Christmas Day!
How about some REAL reporting Argus staff? Instead of an advertisement mocked up to look like news?
