Two more chart-topping acts have been announced for Brighton's newest festival.

Rapper Example and the Brighton-based DJ duo Freemasons will join Mark Ronson at Shakedown in Stanmer Park on July 9.

The latest names were released at last night's launch party.

The one-day festival, which will run from 2pm until midnight, is expected to attract 20,000 people.

Freemasons are Russell Small, who was one half of 90s dance sensation Phats and Small, and James Wiltshire. The pair took their name from their local pub in Hove when they formed in 2005.

Since then they have had a string of Top 20 hits here and abroad, including Heartbreak (make me a dancer) featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Uninvited.

They have also made a name for themselves remixing songs for some of the world's biggest artists, including Beyonce, Shakira and Kylie Minogue.

Example, whose real name is Elliot Gleave, is an English rapper and protégé of The Streets' Mike Skinner. He came to fame after producing a response to Lily Allen's hit, Smile, called Vile.

Since then Example, whose stage name comes from his initials, has had hits with Kickstarts and Won't Go Quietly.

Steve Jones, one of the festival organisers, said: “I'm delighted to confirm the additions of Example and the Freemasons to the Shakedown line-up.

“Example is one of the UK's biggest artists right now and he's incredible live, and Brighton's very own Freemasons have established themselves as one of the most successful DJ producers in the world.

“We've still got a few more aces up our sleeve which we can't wait to reveal over the coming weeks."

Some early bird tickets, at a cost of £25, are now available at www.shakedown.co.uk.

More information is also available on the Shakedown Twitter and Facebook pages.

More exclusive announcements about the line-up will be revealed in The Argus over the next few weeks.
