A £6 million seafront attraction could transform the seafront by this summer.

About 250,000 people a year are expected to get birds’ eye views of the city on the 45-metre high ride known as the Brighton Wheel.

Paramount Attractions have secured private funding and are hoping to get temporary planning permission to run the giant structure all year round.

The group, which were behind the spokeless Brighton O, have adapted their plans and moved the proposed site from the West Pier to east of Brighton’s Palace Pier.

The wheel will be similar to those already in place in other tourist destinations including Paris and Niagara Falls.
