A little girl from Brighton and Hove has had specialist treatment for an eating disorder.

The youngster, believed to be eight or nine years old, was among more than 30 young patients across Sussex to need help.

The information was revealed to The Argus through a Freedom of Information request made to the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

A girl under ten in Brighton and Hove needed treatment over a three month period, while three aged Seven girls between 11 and 15 and seven 16 and 18 year olds in East Sussex and six under 18-year-olds were given treatment over the same period.

Ten of the 30 patients were so severely ill with illnesses like anorexia or bulimia, they needed to be admitted to hospital.
