Record numbers of people are using the Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospital websites, new figures reveal.

Statistics show that nearly 1,000 people visit the Trust’s website everyday.

During 2010-11, an average of 30,000 people viewed more than 133,000 pages every month- an increase of 30 percent on the previous year.

A consultant directory, which provides patients with an interactive guide of 210 of the Trusts most senior doctors, is one of the websites most visited pages.

A section where patients can book, cancel or amend the date and time of their appointments is also popular.

The Trust has also been embracing social networking and has accounts on both Facebook and Twitter.

Web manager Alex Schleif said: “By visiting our website, following us on Twitter and joining us on Facebook, people can keep up-to-speed with everything that’s going on in our hospitals, from patient stories to our plans to spend millions of pounds redeveloping our hospital.”
