A campaign has been launched to help hundreds of people with Parkinson's disease get access to the vital support they need.
Health bosses in West Sussex are being urged to agree to pay for a specialist community nurse amid fears the post could be scrapped.
NHS West Sussex had agreed to fund two new nurses, one for the north and one for the south of the county.
However the post planned for the south, serving Worthing and surrounding areas, has not been approved by the new GP consortium appointed to take over the primary care trust's role.
The Worthing branch of the charity Parkinson's UK has already collected almost 1,000 signatures on a petition calling for Coastal West Sussex Federation to approve the appointment.
