An Albion fan has cranked up the tension ahead of this weekend’s game with Southampton by offering to sell the South Coast rivals ten of Albion’s points.
The points have been put for auction on eBay by one cheeky fan and have so far attracted 18 bids.
Last night the top bid stood at £11.50.
Potential buyers are told that these are ten genuine Football League points gained by playing the best quality football in the First Division and come with a signed certificate of authenticity from
Albion boss Gus Poyet.
Southampton and Crystal Palace are cryptically mentioned as clubs which might benefit as their promotion and survival bids are set to go right to the wire while Albion coast towards the end of the
season with the league title already sewn up.
Darren McKay, who runs Albion supporters’ independent internet forum North Stand Chat, said: "Albion fans posting on North Stand Chat have responded with glee at the listing."
