Vandals poured hydrochloric acid onto paths in a Jewish cemetery.
The yobs broke into a caretaker’s shed in the Jewish Cemetery in Meadow View, Brighton last night and poured around 15l of the highly corrosive acid damaging around 20 square metres of paths.
Firefighters from Preston Circus were called to the scene at around 8pm last night and poured around 4000l of water to dilute the spill.
Watch Commander Dave Statham said: “Whoever did this were very lucky they were not seriously injured, hydrochloric acid is very dangerous and can be lethal.”
