Steam age fanatics celebrated the opening of their museum.
The rail buffs of the Bluebell Railway watched Lord Faulkner of Worcester cut the ribbon at their visitor centre at Sheffield Park station, in Uckfield, on Thursday.
The museum charts the history of railways in the south, the line between Lewes and East Grinstead and the fight to create the heritage railway.
It was built thanks to a £2.8 million Heritage Lottery Fund grant, which also paid for sheds for 16 carriages.
About 60 guests watched Thursday’s ceremony.
Roger Price, the railway’s archivist, said: “It is a super new facility. Before, we had a really old museum. Now, this is newly fitted out with interpretative displays.”
The museum is open this weekend, then daily from July 1.
