A flagship superstore is open for business.

The new Next store in Shoreham was unveiled yesterday by Changing Rooms presenter Carol Smillie, pictured right.

The store has created 250 jobs at the Holmbush Centre in Upper Shoreham Road.

It is the biggest Next store in Sussex and one of the largest in the country.

The 56,000sq ft store offers women, men, children and home collections and the chain’s first DIY and garden centre.

Customers were full of praise for the new shop.

Fiona McFadyen, from Shoreham, said the town is an up and coming area and that the Next store is the icing on the cake.

She said: “The shop is just what the area needs.”

Sisters Jess and Vanessa Ryall, from Shoreham, said they joined a queue of 500 people to get into the store.

Jess said: “It’s fantastic. I can’t believe it. We only live around the corner so we will be coming here often.”

A spokeswoman for the store said: “It has been a fantastic success and I am sure we will add an exciting new element to shopping in Shoreham.”
