Revived £450,000 cycle lane plans have been given the green light.
Brighton and Hove City Council approved proposals for a dedicated route in Old Shoreham Road, Hove, at a special meeting yesterday.
It comes months after the previous Conservative administration shelved plans for a major cycle lane in the road for safety concerns.
This was after nearly £100,000 was spent developing the lanes.
The revived 1.5km route from The Drive in Hove to Seven Dials, Brighton, will be paid for by a £330,000 grant from sustainable transport charity Sustrans and £125,000 of council funds and should be complete by March.
