Worthing man helps injured pedestrian

A father-of-three has described how instinct kicked in as he rushed to the aid of a man who had been hit by a car.

Paul James, 36, of Upton Road, Worthing, helped the pedestrian who was knocked down in Terringes Avenue, Worthing, yesterday.

It is the second time Mr James has stepped in to help someone.

Speaking about the latest incident, Mr James, who works for a drainage company, said: “It happened right in front of us.

“It looked like the pedestrian stepped out from behind a parked vehicle.

“We put him into the recovery position and helped him until the ambulance arrived and the paramedics took over.

“Everything happened so quickly.”

it is amazing how because his instinct 'kicked in' and he followed it.. he is hailed as a Good Samaritan, but I, following my own instinct, got out of there as soon as possible and I am dubbed a 'Hit and Run Cowardly Scum!" Life can be so unfai, sometimes.
