The Argus is proving to be a big hit with council workers.
Our website is the second most accessed site by Brighton and Hove City Council employees over the last six months – second only to Google.
Theargus.co.uk had more than 20 million hits from city council computers in the last six months alone.
We were also pretty popular with East Sussex County Council workers who gave us 32m hits in the same time frame.
Among other websites listed as the 50 most regularly accessed by council computers, obtained via a Freedom of Information request, were Facebook, Amazon, YouTube and RightMove.
Council workers have helped make The Argus website the most popular site in Sussex with more than 3.5 million page impressions in July and around 450,000 unique users every month.
At East Sussex County Council the Argus was the 15th most accessed site – ahead of Facebook, the BBC, Amazon and Wikipedia.
Personal email sites Yahoo and Googlemail were also among top 50 sites accessed by council employees.
