Processions and firework displays will accompany huge bonfires at organised events across the county this year.
The Sussex Bonfire Societies events are being held on each of the next seven weekends at locations from Littlehampton to Rye.
Burgess Hill Bonfire Society, which has been running for more than 100 years, had to cancel its event this year because it did not have enough help to carry out the physical and administrative work needed to put it on.
A smaller fireworks display was held on September 24 and bonfire society members will be taking part in other parades across the county.
The biggest event will be in Lewes on Saturday November 5 where six of the seven bonfire societies will process through the town.
The remaining society, Nevill Juvenile, holds its night two weeks before November 5.
In Seaford the bonfire society will hold its first celebration on Saturday October 22.
The Bonfire Boyes and Belles will leave the White Lion Pub in Claremont Road, Seaford, at about 7.15pm and will march to the war memorial where wreaths will be laid to remember those who lost their lives in the wars.
