Worthing campaigner praised by Prime Minister

A Worthing-based community organiser has been praised in a speech by the Prime Minister.

Dan Thompson was praised by David Cameron in a speech at the Conservative Conference yesterday for his efforts in cleaning up the streets of London following the riots this summer.

In his speech, Mr Cameron said: “Dan Thompson watched the riots unfold on television.

“But he didn’t sit there and say ‘the council will clean it up’.

“He got on the internet. He sent out a call. And with others, he started a social movement.”
