A FIRE hit a care home in Bridgwater in the early hours of this morning.
Crews from Bridgwater were called to the fire at the site in Church Street at around 3.27am this morning.
Four extra fire engines were sent, as the fire service worked on accounting for all people on site. Four people were rescued from the building at around 5.24am.
By 7.17am the blaze was extinguished - with the cause still under investigation. The room where the fire started was moderately damaged by fire and there was slight smoke damage to the rest of the premises.
