A 16-YEAR-OLD boy is in a critical condition in hospital after his moped collided with a telegraph post in Chorley.
The accident took place on Blackburn Road (B6228) near to the junction with Knowley Brow on Tuesday, November 1, but police said his condition has now deteriorated.
The teenager, who lives locally, was riding a 50cc moped when he was involved in the crash at around 8pm.
Police said at first, his injuries were not thought to be life threatening. He is now in a critical condition at the Royal Preston Hospital.
Sgt John Wharton said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident to come forward and contact police.
“The 16 year old boy is very poorly in hospital and we have specially trained officers supporting his family through this difficult time.”
