Worthing man in hospital after attack by about eight men

A 34-year-old man suffered head injuries after being attacked by about eight men.

Police and emergency services were called to Christchurch Road in Worthing about 7.45pm .

The “disturbing” attack left the victim with head injuries and he was rushed to Worthing Hospital.

He remains in a stable condition.

Detective Inspector, Pip Taylor from West Sussex CID said: "This was a disturbing incident and we would urge anyone who witnessed the attack or saw any suspicious activity prior to it, to please contact police immediately.”

Two local men, aged 18 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

They are in custody this morning waiting for questioning.
