"Fire" at Brighton's Palace Pier

Brighton's iconic Palace Pier is on "fire" - but don't worry, it is just a training exercise.

Dozens of people reported smoke rising from the listed landmark about 10am this morning.

Witnesses said more than a dozen fire engines are involved in the incident which has been confirmed as a training exercise by a spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue.

The Victorian attraction is currently on the market but no buyer has yet been found.

Well, I doubt they would have a REAL fire with REAL smoke and REAL firefighters on the pier if it was a training exersize?
Perhaps The Council should avoid using The Military spokeperson as their media rep..?

Well as my late father always used to say, "Fight fire with fire", that would probably explain his short career as a fireman
