A 39-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a car on the A27.
The Mazda MX5 Saloon was on the westbound dual carriageway in Chichester, between the Whyke and Stockbridge Road roundabouts, when he hit the man, who is from Fernhurst, near Chichester, at 9.15pm yesterday.
The driver, a 48-year-old man from Havant, Hampshire, was unhurt. The road was closed until shortly before 2.30am while a full investigation was carried out.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this collision to come forward, by calling 101 and quoting Operation Balmoral.”
