More than 2,000 letters and questionnaires have been sent to homes and businesses asking if they would like to see changes made to parking restrictions in their road.
The consultation in Chichester is building on a similar exercise carried out earlier this year with residents in areas outside of the controlled parking zone (CPZ), asking whether they would support the idea of extending the restrictions into their area.
Residents, businesses and their visitors are given priority to park by purchasing permits or vouchers, helping to improve road safety, reduce congestion and prevent obstructions to private driveways by removing indiscriminate parking.
The closing date for comments is December 31. If there is support for changing or extending the CPZ in Chichester, it is hoped that a more detailed public consultation and exhibition of proposals will be held in spring. Changes would be introduced in autumn next year.
