A “dangerous” rapist has been jailed for 18 years after being found guilty of attacking three women.

Michal Tejkowski stalked a 17-year-old girl along Dyke Road, before raping her in Dyke Road Park, Hove, as she made her way home on Valentine’s Day.

The 27-year-old was also found guilty of two counts of rape against a 25-year-old prostitute in the Waitrose car park in Western Road, Brighton, on March 11 and sexually assaulting a 67-year-old woman in a park in Maidstone, Kent, on the afternoon of May 6.

The Polish warehouseman, of Enterprise Road, Maidstone, will be put on the sex offenders register for life.

Judge Simon Coltart said Tejkowski is a “thoroughly dangerous man who had shown not a shred of remorse or human compassion towards his victims and that if he ever wanted to know why he received this sentence he should read his victim's impact statements.”

Detective Chief Inspector Trevor Bowles, who led the investigation, said: “I am very pleased that justice has been served against this dangerous man. The threat he poses to women is considerable. He has shown no remorse or concern for his victims throughout his trial.

"Tejkowski's crimes against these three women were appalling. All three victims showed immense courage and strength throughout the police investigation and during the trial. My team and I have been humbled by their courage and strength in giving evidence against their attacker, a predatory rapist.

"This has been a long and complicated investigation which involved extensive forensic analysis and important cross border work with our colleagues in Kent.”

He was arrested on May 6 after sexually assaulting the 67-year-old woman in a park in broad daylight in Maidstone.

DNA taken from Tejkowski following his arrest was a “one in a billion” match to a sample taken from a Waitrose car park.

A police officer in Kent then linked the attack in Maidstone to the Dyke Road attack after watching a BBC Crimewatch appeal in June.

A DNA link was then made to traces found on the Dyke Road victim’s skirt.

Tejkowski arrived in the South East in October 2010 and raped the two Brighton women whilst he was living in West Hill Street, in Brighton.

He then moved to Kent with his wife and daughter in March 2011.
