A woman suffered multiple fractures when the car she was driving was involved in a crash.

The 33-year-old Rover driver, from Uckfield, collided with a white Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Audi A4 on the A267 at Cross In Hand, Heathfield, at 6.20pm yesterday.

The woman had to be cut free from her car by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

A 43-year-old woman, from Horam, near Heathfield, who was driving the Vauxhall, was also released from her car by firefighters and taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital with minor injuries.

A 40-year-old Heathfield man who was driving the Audi was uninjured but his car was badly damaged.

Sergeant Dan Pitcher, from East Sussex Road Policing Unit, said: “The scene of this collision was particularly busy and the adverse weather conditions made working within the area very hazardous.

“I would like to thank members of the public for their patience as the roads around the scene were very busy as a consequence.”
