These banged up troublemakers have been given a festive look.
The penned in Shoreham sheep are involved in a new mystery, this time over who gave them their festive jail clothes.
The sheep made national headlines after The Argus broke the news of their incarceration last week.
West Sussex County Council said the plastic sheep on the A27 Shoreham flyover had been painted green to stop drivers thinking they were real.
The greedy grazers had been placed on the roundabout as part of a sponsorship scheme to promote the South Downs National Park.
But after frantic calls to the council from panicked drivers, the council decided to pen them in with yellow barriers.
Now some sympathetic soul has decided to cheer them up by giving them some Christmas headgear.
And a council spokeswoman said the sheep can look forward to the New Year when they will be allowed to roam free in the centre of the roundabout.
