Broadleys 0 Tenbury Athletic 3
LEADING-marksman James Williams bagged a brace as Athletic romped into the second round of the Herefordshire Sunday League Division One Cup.
Ciaran Rogers also scored for Athletic, who started the game with just nine men but were worthy winners against a weak Broadleys team.
Toby Gittens missed a first-half penalty but was involved in Athletic’s second goal which is a contender for their best goal of the season.
Williams put Tenbury 1-0 ahead before Rogers finished off a superb move, involving a fine cross from Toby Gittens.
Williams’ second strike wrapped up Tenbury’s first-round triumph while their defence of Zack Gittens, Chris Lort, Glenn Gittens also shone.
Tenbury will meet Bromyard Casuals in the next round and are expecting a much tougher test.
