ARMED police swooped on a man brandishing a gun in St Leonards.
Members of the public reported seeing the gunman in London Road at around midday today.
A police helicopter and trained firearms officers were scrambled to the scene.
Details of the man were circulated and a Police Community Support Officer spotted someone matching the description in the area.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of possessing an air weapon, without any injuries to public or police.
No threats were made towards any members of the public.
