Arrests after Brighton squat raid

7:00am Saturday 28th January 2012

Squatters pelted bailiffs and police with eggs and water during an eviction at a house, claimed police.

A group of people in a council-owned home in Ditchling Road tried to stop county court bailiffs repossessing the property at about 10am yesterday (January 27).

Four people were evicted.

Two people in their 20s were arrested, one on suspicion of committing a public order offence by swearing, the other on suspicion of assaulting a bailiff by pushing them.

A squat at the former PDSA shop in Oxford Street, and one at a privately-owned property in Ditchling Road, were also repossessed.
