A soldier who was told he would never walk again after a spinal cord injury has embarked on a 2,012-mile walk.
Major Phil Packer visited the American Express Community Stadium on his epic tour of Britain yesterday (January 26).
Mr Packer set himself the challenge to raise funds to build a centre to help young people overcome adversity.
He hopes to raise £15million to build a Centre of Inspirational Excellence near Chichester where charities can send young people for support in their darkest hours.
He began the Sussex leg of his journey at 10am yesterday and invited the county’s youth to walk with him.
Schools across the county are being encouraged to complete their own 2,012-mile.
