A tailor to the stars has opened a flagship London store.
But Gresham Blake said the move does not mean he will be spending less time at his base in Bond Street, Brighton.
Actor Ray Winstone, comedian Steve Coogan, bestselling crime writer Peter James, author Simon Toyne and hairdresser Mark Woolley, owner of Electric in Ship Street, Brighton, were among the celebrities at the glitzy bash in Shoreditch.
Channel 4 News presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy was also at the event.
He tweeted that Mr Coogan was pleased that he was wearing a tie Mr Coogan had designed for Mr Blake.
Hollywood actor Mr Winstone said he had been buying suits from Mr Blake’s Brighton store for years.
Mr Blake has been hailed as part of the “new bespoke movement”.
His style attempts to remodel classic British tailoring by making it relevant to a new audience of younger customers.
His style has been described as ‘Savile Row with a rock star twist’.
Mr Blake insisted that opening the new store does not mean he will spend less time at his home town store.
He said: “My passion is Brighton and my heart remains in the city.
“The place is unique and there is nothing like Brighton people.
“I have restructured the business so that customers in Bond Street can expect to see more of me, not less.
“No one should get the idea that I am less than 100% committed to it.
“I plan to spend a lot more time on the shop floors in Brighton this year.”
