East Grinstead jewellers raided by gang on mopeds

A jewellers was hit in a smash and grab raid this morning.

East Grinstead Watch Company in High Street, East Grinstead, was targeted at 11.45am.

At least two robbers entered the shop, stole jewellery and money and then escaped on mopeds along Ship Street.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Mopeds have peddles,seriously,th
e last time I saw one was in France about 20 years ago, very cool transport, you peddle when able to and engage the motor when neccasary , scooters dont have peddles,oh well now you know!.

The articles I have been reading are incorrect. These were not mopeds, they were motorbikes and four men in total came in to the shop. They used two axes and did not smash and grab, they made their way in and threatened to kill the shop owner by swinging their axes before stealing money and watched then fleeing.
