Snow falls in Sussex overnight

A light dusting of snow has fallen in parts of Sussex.

Rail companies say normal timetables are operating but there may be some minor disruptions during this morning's rush hour.

Drivers are being warned to take care, particularly on minor roads.

Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company is running a normal service and Gatwick Airport says there are no problems so far.

Up to 2cm of snow is reported to have fallen but no more is expected today.

Forecasters are warning the main problem will be ice on untreated roads and pavements.

Is this really a surprise or "news"? What was once simply known as "Winter" is now called the "Big Freeze" with the associated 'panic' and fervour.
