Firefighters tackle restaurant blaze

An investigation will be held into the cause of a fire at a Brighton restaurant this morning.

Crews were called to A Taste of the Sahara in Western Road after reports of smoking coming from a store room on the first floor.

The room was badly damaged in the blaze and the main restaurant area clogged with smoke.

Around six people in neighbouring flats were evacuated as crews tackled the fire, which broke out just after 2am.

The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
