Shop assistant threatened with knife in St Leonards robbery

A robber stole cash and cigarettes from a shop after threatening a member of staff with a knife.

A man in his late teens threatened a female staff member who was alone in a One Stop Shop in Blackman Avenue, St Leonards with a six inch hunting knife at around 7pm on Thursday night.

The suspect, who is described as being a lanky 6ft 2 and was wearing a distinctive baseball cap with a gold 59 50 sticker at the time of robbery, was seen loitering outside a nearby bus stop for 30 minutes before the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1363.
