A nurse who attacked a man and then joked about it on Facebook has been struck off.
The nursing watchdog, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), blasted Kenneth Brady – who was a nurse and a manager of The Progress Care Home in Winchester Road, Worthing – for his comments on the social networking site.
Brady was drunk when he head-butted Thomas Hond on the nose outside the Beechwood Hall Hotel in Wykeham Road, Worthing, in May 2008.
He received a police caution for the offence.
He later wrote on his Facebook site: "Apparently nurses aren't supposed to headbutt people . . . not even in their free time . . . lol."
His bad behaviour came to light in 2007 after West Sussex County Council launched an investigation into allegations of “institutional abuse” at the care home for adults with enduring mental health problems.
