A mother who has been reported missing never arrived at a company she had told her family she was going to visit on a business trip.
A partner in Qatari firm Nakfa Qatar Decorating told The Argus that they had not reached any agreement for Karen Furlong, of Crescent Road, Worthing, to travel to Doha and work for them.
Ms Furlong, was reported missing by her estranged partner and father of her two children after she failed to return home from the business trip in Qatar on January 27 as planned.
Family members have not heard from Karen since that date and she has stopped answering calls.
It is believed that she may now be in Egypt.
A partner in the Qatari firm replied to an email from The Argus asking about Ms Furlong’s disappearance on Friday, February 10.
The email said that there was no agreement for any woman to work for them and they contacted the embassy in Doha to explain that she had never contacted them.
Sussex Police on Friday confirmed there had been no new developments in tracing Ms Furlong.
Officers are urging friends of Ms Furlong with any information to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0648 of 28/1.
