Three seriously injured in Heathfield crash

Three people were seriously injured in a crash.

A 60-year-old Heathfield man suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital.

A 63-year-old man from Punnetts Town and a 60-year-old woman suffered broken ankles and were taken to the Conquest Hospital in St Leonards.

The younger man’s black Daihatsu Terios collided with the couple’s red Ford Ranger pick-up in Cade Street, Heathfield, on Saturday at 4.25pm.

It is thought that the Daihatsu, which was travelling west towards Heathfield, drifted into the opposite carriageway causing it to crash into the Ford pick-up.

If you witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the incident please call 101 quoting serial 1044 of 11/2.
