A teenage girl is in critical condition in hospital after losing control of her car and crashing into a tree.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision near Ashington on Sunday at around 3.35pm.
The Ford KA was travelling west on the B2133 near Ashington when it left the road and collided with a tree.
The driver, a 17-year-old local girl, sustained serious injuries and was taken to King's College Hospital, London, by air ambulance. Her condition is described as critical.
There was no-one else in the car at the time of the collision.
Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Montreal.
