Hove shopkeeper robbed at knifepoint

A shopkeeper was robbed at knifepoint.

The robber entered the P&J Convenience store in Sackville Road, Hove, and threatened the shopkeeper with a knife measuring between three inches and four inches at 3.50pm on Saturday (11).

He made off with alcohol and cigarettes before leaving the store and heading south along Sackville Road.

Detective Constable Sophie Tullet said: “This was a brazen offence to happen in the afternoon.

I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence and saw any suspicious activity to please get in touch.”

The suspect is described as white, aged between 20 and 30, 5ft 7 inches and was wearing a light blue hooded top with white bits under each arm and writing on the back. He had blue jeans, dark shoes, was wearing gloves, had the lower half of his face covered and was carrying a dark rucksack with a white patch on the front that may have been a pocket.

Please call Sussex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Tell me Sophie, what sort of crime is it if it takes place first thing in the morning or at midnight?
Are these the best detectives Sussex have got? God help us.

life in prison should mean life.No parole. We are too soft and our judges from a protected bubble from the real world.Let the victim and family decide on sentencing.
