Jury continues stalking deliberations

A jury is continuing its deliberations over a City highflyer accused of stalking a doctor and her mother.

Al Amin Dhalla was yesterday (February 14) convicted of harassing Brighton doctor Alison Hewitt, 35, and her mother Pamela Hewitt.

The jury are still trying to reach verdicts three further charges.

Dhalla denies attempting to pervert the course of justice by sending letters to Dr Hewitt from prison between April 19 and June 7 last year.

He has also pleaded not guilty to stealing personal papers and cards belonging to Dr Hewitt between December 24 2010 and April 9 2011 and having a crossbow in Colwell Road, Haywards Heath, on April 8 last year.

The Argus incorrectly stated that Dhalla pleaded guilty to two of the charges in today's paper, and apologises for the error.
