Crowds of mourners gathered for the funeral of murdered Darren Croxton.
Young father Mr Croxton, 25, was knifed in woodland near his home in The Diplocks, Hailsham, in January. He later died in the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
Today Mr Croxton, who had a seven-year-old daughter, was remembered at a moving service in St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Hellingly, near Hailsham.
Mr Croxton’s family, including siblings Lee, Dean, Rena and mother Rena Rew, remembered him.
Lee said the service was “a celebration of Darren’s life”.
Previously his uncle Glyn said: “Darren was one of a kind.
“He was a Jack the lad. He stuck up for people.
“The most important things to him were his friends and family.”
A 16-year-old Hailsham boy has been charged with Mr Croxton’s murder and remanded in custody. A number of other people are on bail.
Please feel free to pay tribute to Mr Croxton below.
However, as there is an ongoing court case please do not comment on the trial or the investigation, as this could affect police proceedings.
