The Argus: Brighton Festival Fringe launches today

The Fringe Festival has taken the plunge.

Brighton Fringe 2012 held the launch of its priority booking website and online programme at The Old Market in Hove last night.

Among the highlights was the appearance of one of the six custom-built Victorian bathing machines, which will be positioned across the city at the West Pier, the Fishing Museum, New Road, Brighton Station, Churchill Square and St Peter’s Church.

Brighton Fringe director Julian Caddy said the third largest fringe arts festival in the world offered a market place for performers to showcase their work and an exciting arena for audiences to discover and participate in new, challenging and captivating cultural experiences.

He stated that the open access nature of Brighton Fringe complemented the curated nature of Brighton Festival.

The printed brochure will be available from mid-March and priority booking for Friends of Brighton Fringe finishes on March 1 when tickets go on general sale.
